Act 4 Scenes 1 & 2

Act 4 Scene 1 begings in the forest with Titania and her faries pampering Bottom wiht his ass head. In the beginging he was baffeled as to why she loved him but he was quite enjoying all of the attention. He fell asleep with Titania by his side. Then Oberon and puck happen upon the sleeping two and Oberon releases the spell from Titania, and puck removes Bottom's ass head. Oberon tells puck of when he met with Titania and got her to agree to give him the young Indian boy and he would release the spell. Day comes and Titania and Oberon return to normal and so does bottom. This day is also Theseus's wedding day and he enters on a hunt with Hippolyta, Egeus, and his attendants. The sound of his hounds wakes the four sleeping lovers, Hermia and Lysander, and Demetrius and Helena. They two groups bump into each other and the young lovers retell their story of the previous night but it all sems as a dream. All they know is that Demetruis no longer loves Hermia, but now Helena and Hermia and Lysander are even more in love. This is also the day that Hermia is to make her decision as to whether she marries Demetrius but he does not want her anymore and Egeus is enrages. Theseus see's two happy couples in front of him and does not see the need to cause problems so he orders everyone back to the temple in athens for not one but three happy weddings.

Scene 2

In the mean time, bottom wakes and is lost. The previous night was a dream but he no longer had his ass head. He wanderend back into the clearing looking for the practicing actors but they were nowhere to be found, leaving bottom. At the same time the group of actors were having a meeting discussing the absence of bottom and how he was irriplaceable. One of the actors joins them with the news that theseus and 2 more couples had been married and were very eager to see a play, and the actors were in quite the situation. Just then Bottom bursts in on the meeting. He asks why they looked so sad and where they had gone. He says he has a story to tell them of the night before and his adventures but does not tell them. He directs them to get their costumes together and head stragiht for the dukes to perform their play.
